Our string teachers can teach a wide variety of genres. The violin is normally associated with classical and folk music, but our violin teachers can teach every genre from pop to jazz! Our students spend time each week working on technical skills to improve their sound quality and intonation, but also have their favorite songs incorporated into the lessons. Our string teachers, through their care and expertise, will certainly nurture any student’s love of the violin.

  • What styles of violin do you teach?

    We teach all styles from classical, rock, pop, jazz, country, and blues.


  • How qualified are your violin instructors?

    Our violin and string teachers have performed for several orchestras including Atlanta’s Orchestra Noir, the Atlanta Community Symphony Orchestra, New York’s Mannes Community Orchestra, the Doctors Orchestral Society in New York, and the Brooklyn Symphony Orchestra. Many have gone on performance tours of the US, and have several years of professional performance and teaching experience. Traditional violin study, as well as the Suzuki method are offered. In addition to their teaching credentials, our teachers have warm personalities, are extremely friendly, and strive to get to know each student and their parents on a personal level.‍


  • What will I learn from violin lessons at Soundscapes?

  • Do I need to purchase a violin to learn the instrument?

    Each teacher will consult with parents to let them know options for purchasing or renting string instruments. 


  • Are there recitals?

    Absolutely! Every December and May, our students have the opportunity to perform in recital. Admission is free, so you can invite all of your family and friends.
